I like to push my skills in throwing through testing my personal abilities by creating pieces that have drastic differences in size. In this collection I have created a series of miniature vases in varying colours.

After having worked for such a long time on larger pieces, I find peace, joy and also a sense of great challenge through making these playful miniatures. Large pieces require substantial strength, pressure and force with the clay whereas the necessities of making miniatures requires the antithesis of these attributes. The process calls for a delicate hand, attention to detail and light pressure.

Along with this total switch in technique, I also work within the challenge of consistency. I strive for similarities in height and size whilst negotiating the small amount of clay. Here, I work within the realms of the production potter in order to shift my thinking towards consistency.
