The ideation process behind the creation involved experimenting with expressing on a potter’s wheel, shaping a bowl, and pressing it into the form of Vesica Piscis. The colour and glaze ideation drew inspiration from nature, specifically the mossy green hues of the monsoon in Dharamkot, with an emphasis on water-like pooling in the depths of the bowl.

From this inspiration the resulting ‘Matte Bowl’ features a distinctive design, showcasing a green matte glaze on its exterior and a captivating tortoise shell crackle glaze within. Its wide, shallow shape boasts a subtly curved rim, creating an aesthetically pleasing silhouette. The uniform green colour on the outside contrasts with the intricate tortoise shell crackle glaze on the interior, achieved by applying a layer of glaze over a layer of unfired clay, leading to a captivating crackle effect during firing. This unique process results in an eye-catching and visually appealing bowl. Constant imagery of certain key elements always come to my mind such as leaves, water droplets, and pooling in a curve; these add a thoughtful layer to my creative process, infusing the final piece with a harmonious blend of form and inspiration.
