I started working on this range of cherry blossoms as a collaborative work with the help of another teammate early this year and the product is inspired obviously by the blossoms around in the valley. By march the himalayan ranges are beginning to fill with beautiful butterflies fluttering around so many colourful flowers naturally growing around and always feel a need to make those days stay forever through my work in ceramics and paintings. Hence this range!

These bowls are made for small portion of food like dal, nuts or just some extras/accompaniments with your food or snack.

The stoneware used is brittle at drying stage hence a lot of care is needed while making these individually by hand and then trimming them at leather hard stage. Post first firing they were hand painted with red, black, brown and green underglazes in a water colour style. Finished with a clear glaze on top they look very elegant together. With time the glossy layer on top may develop slight crackles which is termed crazing, though it doesn’t affect the food safety or quality of the product.
