When I work with floral motifs and various carving techniques, I find the process becomes even more satisfying when I know that I am working on something that will be used almost everyday, the simple plate.

This set of four soft square art plates are perfect for finger foods, side dishes, bite sized treats or a sophisticated snack time. The bright blue and olive green shades of the ethnic floral motifs over an ivory backdrop are inspired by pomegranate blooms and add a touch of elegance and artistry to your dining table.

They were made by slab method in stoneware clay and shaped individually. You will notice all of them are slightly different from each other due to their handmade nature, a celebration of the beauty in imperfection. The floral paintings and etchings are created when the clay is at a semi dry stage and all the motifs have been painted freehand which makes each plate subtly unique. They are then finished with a coat of transparent glaze.
