Prianka, a London-born artist with degrees in product design and marketing, spent six years in the London design industry. Seeking a change from the city’s consumerist lifestyle, she shifted to Gujarat, embracing a holistic life in an ashram. Starting her own studio, she focused on woodwork, emphasising minimal and functional designs. Intrigued by new mediums, she joined Dharamkot Studio to study ceramics, breaking free from design briefs and finding joy in creating for its sake. Prianka’s multidisciplinary practice explores the balance between craft and design, embodying soft, organic forms inspired by the vernacular environment. Her art, beyond utilitarianism, celebrates the human spirit and the power of the handmade.
